Interior Design Challenge

In Interior Design on March 6, 2009 at 11:12 am

Challenging all the creative designers and decorators! Here is one L shaped living space that should function as a living room and dining room. The design should be contemporary classic and not overwhelming or cluttered.

All furniture pieces in the pictures should be ignored. Only the dining table has been considered as pictured below (round 4 seater which opens to 6 seats when necessary).

Colors in mind: nature tones with hints of red and sea blue/green. Please recommend a total package. Everything from wall color to furniture to accessories.

Winning design and designer will be featured on Roxxn.com !

  1. Hey I just stumbled upon your website!

A couple questions about the design challenge!

    1. I’m not 100% on how the room is shaped.. I know its an “L” shape.. but what are the dimensions?
    2. Also what is the shape of the kitchen island? In one of the pictures it looks like it may be an obtuse angel possibly making the rooms shape a bit odd?
    3. Is the fabric in the chairs white or off white?
    4. Whats the color of the wood floors? Like a mahogany?

    Thanks!! :)

  2. Did you want the kitchen redesigned too? Or any suggestions for it??

  3. Man! I came up with more questions.. :)
    1. What is on the wall opposite of the sliding glass doors? The front door?
    2. Is this going to be where you watch TV & relax? Or what exactly do you want to see in the room?
    3. Do you have a budget for this room? I can definatly recommend furniture & accessories that would work to fit any budget.. But it will somewhat change the design.
    4. I dont know if this is too much to ask.. but could you sketch up a little layout of the room (even on paint) just so I could get a better idea???
    5. Who lives in the house– kids? pets? etc? How many? Do you entertain much? or will you?

Thanks! :) Sorry again for all the questions!
